FAST RACE REGULATIONS
1. Participation Conditions
- The Fast Race is an event reserved for elite athletes, limited to a maximum of 50 men and 50 women at the start.
- To be admitted, each athlete must have an official timing reference within the minimum standards set by the organization.
- Men: 3'50" on 1500m OR 14'45'' on 5000 meters OR 30'45" on 10000 meters.
- Women: 4'30" on 1500m OR 18'00'' on 5000 meters OR 37' on 10000 meters.
- Performances must be recognized and verifiable on the World Athletics website (or an equivalent official recognized: Tilastopaja, FFA, VAL, LBFA, etc.).
- Performances must have been achieved within the last 24 months prior to the event.
2. Registration Procedure
- Registrations are done via the official form posted by the organization.
- Each registration will be validated only after verification of the reference time.
· In case of exceeding the maximum number of participants, the organization reserves the right to establish a waiting list based on:
o the proximity to the official minima,
o the sporting or media interest of the profile,
o and the representativeness of Belgian sport, the organization wishing to enhance the presence of national athletes with a view to media promotion and local sports development.
- The organization guarantees a minimum of 20 spots per category (men and women) reserved for Belgian athletes meeting the performance criteria.
- Registrations may be opened in two phases:
- Phase 1 – National pre-registration: Until November 20, only elite Belgian athletes meeting the minima will be accepted.
- Phase 2 – International opening: depending on the remaining spots, international athletes will be admitted based on their minima.
3. Course and certification
The course of the Fast Race is certified and officially measured, in accordance with international standards of World Athletics / AIMS.
This certification guarantees:
- an exact distance of 5 km, measured by a certified expert,
- a course compliant with international rules (notably regarding elevation and start-finish separation),
- the validity of performances achieved for official rankings and statistics.
4. Schedules and call room
- Start Women : 5:00 PM
- Start Men : 5:30 PM
- Les athlètes doivent se présenter à la call room at least 10 minutes before their departure.
- Starting boxes of 10 people, depending on the minimums, will be created. Each athlete will be called to place themselves in their box shortly before the start.
5. Call order
The call order of the athletes and their positioning on the starting line will be established according to the following criteria:
- Priority based on the previous edition's ranking:
Athletes who participated in the FAST RACE the previous year will be called first, in the exact order of their final ranking.
Thus, the winner of the previous edition will be the first to be called to the starting line, followed by the second, the third, and so on. - Order of registrations:
After the ranked athletes from the previous edition, other participants will be called in chronological order of their registration validation by the organization, subject to their actual presence in the call room. - Mandatory presence:
Athletes must be present in the call room no later than 10 minutes before their departure.
Any delay will result in the loss of call priority and placement at the end of the line. - Final placement:
The person in charge of the call room is the only one authorized to confirm the final order on the starting line.
No disputes will be accepted after the official call of the participants.
6. Image and communication
- By participating, athletes agree to the use of their name, image, and results in connection with the communication related to the Fast Race (website, social media, media, partners).
